How Does it Work?

Utilizing our scanning technology helps farmers make smarter decisions to reduce costs, increase yield, and protect the environment.

Pre-Season Scan:

  • Assesses soil variability (moisture, organic matter) to guide pre-emergent herbicide and starter fertilizer applications.

  • Identifies areas prone to early weed pressure.

  • Establishes field variability before crop emergence.

Core Scan (V2-V3):

  • Monitors early stand establishment and emergence uniformity.

  • Detects early weed competition for post-emergent herbicide applications.

  • Better Solution

    • We use NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) to assess plant vigor and identify areas needing replanting.

    • We then create prescription maps for targeted herbicide.

Core Scan (V6-V8):

  • Assesses nitrogen uptake and overall crop health to guide sidedress nitrogen applications.

  • Detects pest or disease pressure early on.

  • Better Solution

    • We use NDRE (Normalized Difference Red Edge) for nitrogen status and NDVI for biomass assessment.

    • We then create prescription maps for variable-rate nitrogen application.

Core Scan (V10-VT):

  • Monitors crop stress, disease progression, and nutrient deficiencies before the critical grain-fill period.

  • Optimizes fungicide and insecticide applications.

  • Better Solution

    • We use NDVI and NDRE indices detect disease hot spots or pest-damaged areas.

    • We then develop precise prescription maps for insecticide, fungicide, and late-season nitrogen.

R1-R3 Scan:

  • Monitors grain fill progress and late-season nutrient status.

  • Assesses the effectiveness of mid-season applications.

  • Better Solution

    • We use NDVI and NDRE indices for assessing yield potential and nutrient sufficiency.

    • Allows the farmer to evaluate any late-season pest or disease outbreaks.

What About Irrigation?

Agricultural drone sprayers are not the economical solution for large irrigation needs; however, it might be helpful in very unique situations.

  1. During grain fill (R3-R5) when water use can peak at 50 gal/ac per day.

  2. There are limited areas within a field that are not receiving this much water.

  3. Our spray drones can take advantage of spot spraying to deliver water without damaging crops.
